How can I change my e-mail address?
Do you want to change your email address but keep your emails, contacts, appointments and data stored in the cloud? No problem!
In some cases, it may be necessary to change the e-mail address or make a name change, for example after a wedding. With an eclipso account you can easily make the changes yourself, for which we offer the following solutions:
How to change your name:
- Log in to your eclipso account via the desktop version.
- Call up the menu Settings > Account | Contact details.
- Change or add all relevant Personal data.
- Then click [ OK ] to save your entries.
How to change your e-mail address:
The main e-mail address cannot be changed because it is inseparably linked to the account. If you want to change your name, we recommend using an alias address.
- Log in to your eclipso account via the desktop version.
- Call up the menu Settings > E-mail | Aliases.
- Create a new alias address with the desired name.
- Then click [ OK ] to save your entries.
How to change the default e-mail address:
After you have performed the name change and created an alias address, you can now change the default email address and the default sender.
- Log in to your eclipso account via the desktop version.
- Call up the menu Settings > Account | Preferences.
- In the Sending options section, select the Default sender from the drop-down menu..
- Optionally, you can enter an additional name in the Sender name field, which will be displayed when an e-mail is sent.
- Then click [ OK ] to save your entries.
The alias address you have just created is immediately ready for use, can be used as default email address and also as login address.
Advantage: Your previous e-mail address is retained, i.e. you can still receive e-mails via it, e.g. if you are registered with your previous e-mail address at shopping websites etc.If you still don't want to continue with your current account, you can delete it at any time and create a new account. In this case, however, you will lose all your data and the same e-mail address cannot be registered again.
