A secure e-mail inbox and still free of charge?

eclipso Mail & Cloud protects your privacy. Our websites can only be accessed via the secure connection https://. Through the use of HTTP Strict Transport Security (HSTS), modern browsers are urged to only open the secure connection. The login to the web interface is only possible via SSL encryption.

Free of charge and high security standards are not mutually exclusive.eclipso Mail & Cloud offers maximum email security even with our free email offers. At the latest since the revelations of various Internet abuse scandals, we have positioned ourselves very clearly. Our own requirements must also apply to our customers:

Which technical security measures are used at eclipso Mail & Cloud?

Our web and mail servers are equipped with the currently available security standards. In addition, we continuously adapt our systems and use the most modern, technically feasible and necessary security standards.

 
  • SSL certificate at least RSA 2048 bits (SHA256withRSA)
  • Access only possible via HTTPS
  • HTTP Strict Transport Security (HSTS)
  • Perfect Forward Secrecy (PFS)
  • Secure cipher suites with a high encryption rate
  • Passwords are not stored in clear text, but as switched hashes

We use the secure encryption method TLS (Transport Layer Security) and PFS for e-mail transport. If the remote station supports this, the e-mail is transmitted in encrypted form.



As a further feature, users can encrypt e-mail using S/Mime and their own SSL certificates to prevent unauthorized access. In cooperation with Secorio, we offer our customers a 10% discount on S/MIME certificates. You can find more information on our S/MIME information page.

We host our server exclusively in German data centers.
