How can I find lost emails?

Can you suddenly find one or more missing emails? Emails don't just disappear from your eclipso mailbox. To find a supposedly deleted email, you have the following options:

  • Check whether the email you are looking for is in the recycle bin or another system folder
  • Check whether the email you are looking for is in a folder you have created yourself
  • Use the search function (magnifying glass symbol) to find an e-mail about the subject or sender
  • Check whether retention times are set for e-mail folders (menu E-Mail > Folder management)

If you are using an email client (Mozilla Thunderbird, Apple Mail, Microsoft Outlook etc.):
  • Check whether the emails are in a local folder of your email client
  • Check the setting "Leave mails on server or similar" in your email client
  • If necessary, in the Settings - POP3 / SMTP menu in the "Folders to be accessed via POP3" section, deactivate the checkbox for "All self-created folders"
  • Check whether the emails are in a local recycle bin folder

Emails that have been permanently deleted from the recycle bin cannot be restored.

Tips:
  • If the points mentioned do not apply, we recommend that you change your password as soon as possible as a precaution
  • Make regular backup copies of your emails (e.g. by downloading or synchronizing)
