iCAL Import/Export for eclipso Mail Europe: Calendar Synchronization Made Easy

The iCAL Import/Export feature allows you to exchange calendar data between eclipso Mail Europe and other calendar applications. With our iCAL functions, you can transfer your appointments quickly, securely, and reliably between different systems. The feature supports the international iCAL standard (RFC 5545).


The iCAL Import/Export functions are available in all plans. Subscribe to an eclipso Mail Europe package that meets your needs.
 

• Requirements

  • You need access to the calendar section in your eclipso Mail Europe account.
  • For import: A valid .ics file from your previous calendar system.
  • For export: Existing appointments in your eclipso calendar.

• Exporting Calendar - Here's how:

  • Open the menu Calendar in the desktop version.
  • Click Export in the top toolbar.
  • Optionally select a specific calendar group or export all appointments.
  • Choose the desired time period for export (e.g., current year, all appointments).
  • Click [ Export ].
  • The .ics file will be automatically downloaded and can be imported into other calendar applications.
  • Tip: The exported file contains all appointment details including repetitions, reminders, and descriptions.

• Importing Calendar - Here's how:

  • Open the menu Calendar in the desktop version.
  • Click Import in the top toolbar.
  • Click [ Choose File ] and select your .ics file.
  • Select the target calendar group where appointments should be imported.
  • Choose import options:
    • Overwrite existing events: Updates already existing appointments
  • Click [ Import ].
  • After import, you will receive an overview of the imported appointments.

• Import/Export Process

  • Import/Export happens immediately and does not need to be monitored.
  • You will receive confirmation about the number of processed appointments.
  • For large calendar files, import may take a few seconds.
  • Faulty appointments are skipped and displayed in the result overview.

• Important Notes

  • Only calendar appointments are transferred (no contacts or tasks).
  • During import/export, you can continue working normally with the calendar.
  • The iCAL functions are compatible with all common calendar applications (Outlook, Apple Calendar, Google Calendar, Thunderbird).
  • Recurring appointments are correctly transferred, including exceptions and modifications.
  • Reminders and categories are transferred according to the iCAL standard.
  • In case of errors: Check the format of your .ics file or contact support.

• Supported Calendar Applications

  • Microsoft Outlook: Export/Import via "File > Import/Export"
  • Apple Calendar (macOS/iOS): Drag & Drop the .ics file or "File > Import"
  • Google Calendar: "Settings > Import & Export"
  • Mozilla Thunderbird: "Events and Tasks > Import"
  • Other Applications: Look for "iCAL Import" or ".ics Import" in settings

• After Successful Import/Export

  • Check the imported appointments in the calendar view.
  • Verify recurring appointments and reminders for correct transfer.
  • If needed, you can edit appointments afterwards or move them to other calendar groups.
  • Tip: Create regular backups of your calendar using export functions.
