Can I use the eclipso SMTP servers only for sending e-mails?

SMTP servers (Simple Mail Transport Protocol) are used to send outgoing e-mail. Some devices require an SMTP server to send status messages to a specific e-mail address, for example.

Other areas of application are, for example

  • Fax as e-mail message (often found in routers)
  • Alarm messages as e-mail
  • Images from wild or IP cameras
  • Fault messages from technical systems

The use of our SMTP servers only for sending the above mentioned messages is only possible in connection with a fee-based tariff (Connect, Premium or Business). If you already have an eclipso account, the tariff change can be done quickly and with a few clicks via the desktop menu: Menu Settings > Account | Upgrade.
